Florida's community ride board

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information BoteGo collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. BoteGo is a peer-to-peer classified-ads platform, and we collect only what is needed to make that connection work.

Information We Collect

Account information (email, display name, and an optional legal name), profile details (avatar photo, phone number), vehicle information for drivers, ride/delivery/hauling post details (pickup and drop-off locations, dates, prices), saved addresses you choose to store for quick reuse (e.g. Home, Work), in-app messages between users, community badges and feedback notes other users give you, and a device push notification token if you enable notifications.

How We Use Your Information

To create and secure your account, show your posts to other users, connect you with the people you message, generate route-condition insights for posts (traffic, weather, nearby events, and Florida road construction), send you push and in-app notifications about your posts and messages, generate a weekly AI summary of your community feedback for your personal dashboard, and improve the app.

Third-Party Services We Use

Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage. Google Maps/Places/Directions APIs power address lookup, route maps, and traffic-aware trip estimates. Open-Meteo provides weather forecasts (no account data is sent to it). The Florida Department of Transportation's public construction-project feed is cached server-side to flag nearby road work, with no data sent about you. OpenAI generates the AI route-insight summary from anonymized trip facts (locations as coordinates, not your name); it also generates your weekly community-feedback summary, for which it receives your display name along with the badge tags and free-text notes other users have left about you — never your messages, contact details, or other private data. Ticketmaster supplies public event listings used only to flag nearby events, with no data sent about you. AeroDataBox looks up public flight status for airport trips. NHTSA's public vPIC database is used only for one-time VIN lookups you trigger yourself. Expo/Firebase Cloud Messaging deliver push notifications using the device token described above. If you become a Donor, RevenueCat manages your subscription entitlement and receives your purchase receipt, subscription product, and an anonymized app-user identifier from Google Play Billing or the Apple App Store to track your subscription status — never your payment card details, which are handled directly by Google Play or Apple and never seen by BoteGo or RevenueCat. Resend delivers BoteGo's transactional emails, such as invitations, and receives only the recipient's email address and the message. None of these services receive more information than is needed for that specific feature.

What We Share With Other Users

Your display name and avatar are visible to anyone who can see your posts. Your legal name (if provided) is only shared with a user once they accept your post's offer, or with drivers you've saved as trusted. Your phone number and exact contact details are never shown to other users automatically — you choose what to share in chat.

Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, posts, messages, trip agreements, reviews, saved addresses, vehicles and uploaded photos. Only security audit logs may be kept, with no link to your identity.

Your Rights

You can review and edit most of your information directly in the app (Profile → Edit). You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Edit → Delete my account. To request a copy of your data, email support@botego.app — we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children's Privacy

BoteGo is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, row-level access control on our database) to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use of BoteGo after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
